How to get rid of moles ?

We suffered with repeat attacks from a mole or moles for a couple of years. That was until we heard about dropping a couple of moth down each new hole, after a couple of days we found no new mole activity! That was 6 months ago, and fingers crossed no sign of the blighters since. Its a cheaper and less obvious deterrent.
